Michelle Hamblin
Dancing and performing have been a major part of Michelle's life since the young age of five. She began her formal training in hip-hop, ballet and jazz when she was ten, then started learning ballroom dance at the age of twelve. It didn't take long to realize ballroom was her passion and while continuing her training in all forms of dance, she has been able to compete and perform throughout the world in various styles. Michelle received an ‘Outstanding Dancer’ regional scholarship from the New York City Dance Alliance and several top honors from Urban Jam competitions in Hawaii and California. Her ballroom has taken her to Tahiti, Blackpool – England, and many competitions throughout the United States. She has performed at competitions by invitation as well as competed with her team and partners. Michelle placed 2nd with her partner in the Junior National Latin Ballroom Competition at Brigham Young University. She has performed with Derryl Yeager’s Odyssey Dance Theatre in ‘Thriller’, ‘Joy to the World’, and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’. Michelle is currently on a full ride scholarship with the UVSC Ballroom Dance Tour Team. Michelle has trained with professionals such as Louis Van Amstel, Corky Ballas, Buddy Scwimmer, Wendy Johnson, Rick Robinson, Ashly Delgrosso, Wade Robison, Mandy Moore, Alex Magno, Derryl Yeager, Tiffany Carpenter, and Kellie Messerly. Recently she has danced in Rick Robinson’s ‘Dancing Under the Stars’ and ‘Evolutions of Dance’ and is currently a performer with Rick Robinson and Kellie Messerly’s ‘One Night Only’.
