Sydney Sorenson

Sydney Sorenson started dancing at The Dance Club at the age of 4. She studied jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet and tumbling. She attended many competitions and Dance Camps and received numerous awards and scholarships. At the age of 8 Sydney decided to add Classical Ballet, under the direction of Jacqueline P. Colledge to help her get a leg up on all of her jazz competition. By the age of 10 Sydney decided to strictly study Classical Ballet (however she would sneak to as many of Alan Salazar's hip hop classes as possible). She was invited to join Utah Regional Ballets pre-professional program, and at 13 she was the youngest member of URB's Professional Company. Sydney traveled to Tucson, Arizona to participate in Regional Dance America's Festival, and was awarded the prestigious "Craft of Choreography Scholarship" and had the opportunity to study under famous NYC choreographer Alan Hineline. Sydney was also awarded a scholarship to study in San Francisco for a summer under the direction of world renowned choreographer Alonso King. At the end of this summer intensive she was offered a contract to dance with Lines Ballet 2. Sydney has also studied with Boston Ballet, The Royal Ballet, and Ballet West, as well as Atilla Ficzere (Director of University of Utah Ballet) and Jenny Creer King. Sydney has also been involved with Timpview High Schools Dance Company and Varsity Song leading Program since she was a freshman. Most recently, Sydney danced as a Featured Dancer for High School Musical 3. Sydney currently teaches Ballet at The Vibe and dances with Vibe Productions.
